(July 10, 2023) Current county supervisor candidate and former Tucson mayor candidate Janet Wittenbraker speaks at a forum hosted by the NAACP https://tucsonagenda.substack.com/p/the-daily-agenda-mayoral-challengers
(December 6, 2023) New blood: The Tucson Sentinel’s Blake Morlock breaks down the eight applicants vying to replace Bronson as District 3’s Pima County Supervisor. Applicants had until last Friday to submit a resume and fill out a questionnaire, with a handful of notable names ending up on the list, including Matt Kopec, Kristen Randall and Jennifer Allen. A decision will be made in the next few weeks about who will assume the post, with the plan being to have someone in place at the start of 2024 who is able to run in the fall for a full four-year term.
(December 7, 2023) Hear from the candidates: Voters will get a chance to hear from the eight candidates vying to replace retired District 3 Supervisor Sharon Bronson on the Pima County Board of Supervisors at a virtual public forum, the Star’s Charles Borla reports. No date has been set, but the forum, hosted by the League of Women Voters of Greater Tucson, should happen before the Dec. 19 deadline for the supervisors to appoint Bronson’s replacement.

(December 18) A pivotal choice: Pima County Supervisors will soon be picking a replacement for Sharon Bronson, which brings the potential for a leftward drift, the Star’s Tim Steller writes. Bronson must be replaced by a Democrat, since that’s her party affiliation, but Bronson’s rightward drift in recent years made her the second most conservative board member, Steller said. The board could potentially pick a Democrat that would create a new progressive majority for the next several years, making the supervisors look a lot more like the all-Democratic Tucson City Council.
(December 5, 2023) If at first you don’t succeed: Janet Wittenbraker, who lost to Mayor Regina Romero in last month’s race for mayor, announced she is running for the District 3 seat on the Pima County Board of Supervisors. That seat is vacant now that longtime Supervisor Sharon Bronson retired.
(April 24) Jennifer Allen wants to take the 25 years she spent working to “make people’s lives better” and turn it into good policy for Pima County. She’s running for the county supervisor seat in District 3, which former Supervisor Sharon Bronson held for many years until she resigned after an injury last winter. Now, Allen and five other candidates are vying for the seat in a wide-open race without an incumbent. (Tucson Agenda)
