What they do: The Pima County attorney oversees prosecutions of crimes and represents the county in lawsuits. They also advise the county supervisors and other officials on legal matters.
Who can vote: All voters in Pima County can vote in the county attorney’s race.
This year’s race: There are only two candidates for county attorney this year. Both are Democrats, so whoever wins the July 30 primary election will take office for the four-year term. First-term County Attorney Laura Conover is facing challenger Mike Jette, a former state and federal prosecutor.
